After shows in the Stockholm, Paris, Amsterdam and her native Oslo, last night Anna of the North performed at Brussels’ Ancienne Belgique to present her warm and emotive brand of electro-pop, delivering a set that felt both like a career retrospective and a celebration of her newest phase as an artist. The Norwegian singer-songwriter crafted a flowing sonic journey that resonated deeply with the Brussels crowd.

The show opened with atmospheric tape-played interludes that set a dreamy, reflective tone made with voicenotes that the singer received from friends and fans about their feelings and relationship with music.

All dressed in white as her band, composed by guitar, bass and drums, Anna took the stage to start the show with ‘Bird Sing’, a track from ‘Crazy Life’ that layered lush synth textures with her signature soft-spoken vocal delivery, signaling both depth and warmth right from the outset and allowing the audience get a glimpse of her universe.

The show carried on a journey through her discography with songs from ‘Girl In A Bottle’ like the very celebrated ‘No One Knows You Better’, ‘Call Me’ or ‘Waiting for Love’, showcasing her evolving songwriting and sonic palette and from her second album ‘Dream Girl’ the artists perform tracks like ‘Leaning On Myself’, which she ensure if was one of the favourite songs she ever wrote and that elevated the energy in the room sounding rockier and edgier than the rest of her repertoire.

The artist was grateful to be performing in Brussels after 7 years from the last time, and reminded us that she is been doing music for more than a decade, with a special rendition of her 2016 single 'The Dreamer', acknowledging the trends in social media that nostalgically highlight music and special moments from that year.

Her debut album ‘Lovers’ took over the bigger part of the repertoire performing singles like ‘Someone’ and ‘Moving On’ and jumped to her latest release with songs like 'Give Me Your Love Back' and previous hits like the funky 'No Good Without You', that kept everybody dancing.

The singer had room to claim her origins performing ‘Nesten Narkoman’ (translates to 'Almost Like a Drugaddict') from her 2025 EP ‘Hei På Deg’, with a shout out to a couple of fellow Norwegians in the venue who clearly enjoyed the song.

The show closed with the title track ‘Lovers’, that has become a signature anthem and reached a broad audience becoming a beloved highlight in the tour.  Anna of the North offered a beautiful balance between nostalgia and progression, between introspection and uplifting indie electropop.  The tour continues tonight in Germany finishing in Hamburg on 20 February.
