Gay Summer is back: Art, music and lots of queerness

Gay Summer is back! Hotter, louder, and queerer than ever. This second edition brings together bold voices exploring gender, identity, and the many layers of the queer existence in an unexpected take. In a vibrant mix of painting, sculpture, video, installation, live readings, and performances, a collective show at CCINQ from sound to sweat. The opening will take place on 30 August from 18 to 21h00 at CCINQ, Rue de Ligne 2 B- 1000 Brussels.
The exhibition features works from artists Saïd Abitar, Éric Croes, Devrim Bayar, Amélie Landry, Patrick Belmont, Justin Morin, Robin Faymonville, Marjolein Guldentops, Irina Favero-Longo, Violently Happy, Jean-Baptiste Bernadet and Cyril Bourez. In a curation inspired by Virgina Woolf’s novel, “The Waves”. Gay Summer focusses on Neville, one of the book’s characters.
On 5 September, performances will take place during RendezVous, Brussels Art Week ~ Cruising Tales readings (18h30) and a music performance (19h30) rooted in Man Parrish’s soundtracks from the 80’ X-film industry.
CCINQ is a non-profit, independent visual art space initiated by C12, coordinated by Guillaume Bleret and directed by Patrick Carpentier. CCINQ receives annual programming support from the federation Wallonie-Bruxelles. More info here.
