Survival Guide for Brussels Pride

Keep dancing. Keep celebrating. Keep fighting. Keep screaming.
Ladies, gentlemen, and all the other beautiful creatures in between — the moment has finally arrived. Brussels is opening its arms (and its streets, its parks, its bars, and its collective liver) for the 30th edition of Pride. Thirty years. We love to see it.
The forecast has been checked. Your body better be ready for a weekend packed with fun, chaotic, and deeply unnecessary decisions that will hit you like a truck on Monday morning: Sitting at your workplace, coffee in hand, questioning every single choice you made while a very specific kind of shame washes over you in waves. You know the one. We all know the one.
But honestly? These are the stories we will tell for years. That's what life is about my friends, lights and shadows.
Beyond the glitter and the questionable dance moves, Pride is the moment the queer community comes together to celebrate another year of existing loudly and unapologetically. Every year we get stronger. Every year the community grows. And yes, if we look back 30 years, our rights and our freedom to simply exist have genuinely improved in many parts of the world. Progress is real and it matters, it’s good to remember that.
But let's not get too comfortable. There are still a lot of people out there who are bothered — truly, deeply bothered — by our existence. But we'll come back to that at the end. First: the parties.
THE BATTLE PLAN: A FULL DAY SURVIVAL GUIDE
Look, Pride is the kind of event people approach with a lot of energy. Sometimes too much energy. Babieeees, this is a marathon not a sprint — do not blow your entire stock of enthusiasm before noon. Pace yourselves. The night is long and she rewards those who respect her.
This is not a casual suggestion. This is a tactical roadmap for making the most of Pride in Brussels, hour by hour, with zero regrets (or at least the fun kind).
PHASE 1 — MORNING: FUEL UP
Brunch and early drinks are non-negotiable. If the weather is good — and it better be — make your move fast and claim that friend with a nice terrace. Mimosas are the official breakfast of Pride. There is no debate.
PHASE 2 — THE MARCH
We will make it to the march this year, people. The dancing hits different when we stand up for each other and the community. Besides, the parade itself is already a party — floats, music, flags, the whole thing. Consider it a warm-up for your body and your soul. 14:30 at Mont des Arts.
PHASE 3 — AFTERNOON: PICK YOUR BATTLEFIELD
After the march, the city is your dancefloor. Here’s a small selection I came up with, sorry if I forgot something, it’s my week too guys, don’t be mean.
1. Mont des Arts — Concerts & DJ Sets
The big, crowd-pleasing, everyone's-invited stage. Mainstream energy, great music, and the kind of crowd that reminds you Pride really is for everyone. Good vibes guaranteed. Check the full programme here.
2. Parc Royal — Kiosk Radio
The annual Kiosk Radio takeover returns, and this year we get to find out if the new tables survive the inevitable chaos. Expect quality selectors, a crowd that knows its music, and the kind of afternoon that slowly turns into evening without you even noticing ;)
3. Standard Brussels
Not the most central location, but absolutely worth the extra steps. Slim Soledad is on the lineup and the energy looks veeeeeery right. A solid alternative for those who want something a bit more cozy without going all in. Grab tickets here.
4. Afro Pride Ball
This one looks absolutely incredible — right in the city centre, with all the ballroom energy you could ask for. Categories, realness, and a celebration of Black queer culture that deserves every bit of attention. Do not sleep on this. Event info here.
5. Just Vibing in the City
Sometimes the best Pride is no agenda at all — wandering between local gay bars, standing outside with a drink in your hand and your people around you. Not every moment needs a wristband or a stage. The smaller, local queer spaces are the ones holding this community up every single weekend of the year. Support them today too.
PHASE 4 — NIGHT: THE REAL RESISTANCE
The night belongs to those who still have something left in the tank. And then there's my people, the real resistance — the ones who've been in the streets all day and are still ready to rave. You know who you are. We know who we are. This is for us.
Gay Haze – C12
The big one. If you have tickets, congratulations — you beautiful prepared person. If you don't, do not let it ruin your night. Sometimes we get obsessed with getting tickets for the party where everyone will go to, and it’s fine if we don’t make it. There are 200 tickets at the door, so if you fancy a queue, bonne chance! The rest of us are moving on with grace and dignity, let’s see what other options we have. Instagram
Barrio — Cave XXL
A more intimate, familiar alternative for when you've had enough of the chaos and want something that feels like home. Good music, good people, and Barrio is an amazing venue for me. Cave Brussels.
Queer Future Club: Served Hot — Brasserie Illegal
This one has serious pedigree. A label launch party on Pride night, featuring all the artists from the release in one place with a unique set design. Latin and tropical influences meet hypnotic electronic rhythms — basically a tribute to being warm, free, and alive. It’s worth the trip. Tickets and info here.
XXXSound Pride Session — Rue des Belges Café
Young, free, latin, bouncy, hot. The collective knows what they're doing and this one is going to be a sweaty, joyful mess in the best possible way. Right in the city center, no ticket needed, from 22:00 to 01:00 AM. I wouldn't miss it. Check it out.
The Agenda — Pride Party with Local Drags
Pay what you can, get more than you expect. Local drag performers, community energy, zero pretension. Exactly the kind of thing Pride should have more of. Details here.
For the Indecisive Icons — La Vallée
R&B, pop bangers, techno — yes, all of it. A night built for every mood and every crowd, with a dress code that simply says GROS BIJOUX. Stack those accessories and come correct. See the event.
🎟️ Can't Choose? Get the Nightlife Pass
If decision fatigue has claimed you as a casualty, there's a Pride nightlife pass that gives you access to multiple clubs and parties across the city centre in one go. Honestly, the move for the truly ambitious. Get the pass here.
BEYOND THE PARTY — THE PART THAT MATTERS
As mentioned before, there are still a lot of people out there who are angry and scared that we take up space. That we're loud. That we exist, visibly and proudly, in streets, squares and venues that they think shouldn't belong to us.
That's exactly why we can't forget the other side of this. More than ever, to the extent that each of us can — given our own contexts, our safety, our circumstances — we need to be seen. We need to take up space. Because that is how the world understands that we are not going anywhere.
Yes, they can say we're loud. That we party too hard. But they don't understand — and honestly, we don't need them to understand. The nightlife has always been our space, our little piece of heaven.
The dancefloor has always been a sacred place for the queer community. A place to wear the outfit we didn't dare put on in daylight. To dance without fear, the way we used to do it alone in our rooms with the door closed. To sing the songs we didn't have the courage to sing in public. To kiss the people we want to kiss. To be fully, completely ourselves for a few hours — because the outside world wasn't ready for us yet.
The streets are ours. The dancefloor is ours. And we are not letting anyone take away what we built.
If your voice bothers them, be louder. If your outfit bothers them, keep it on.
We are not people who deserve to be hidden, shrunk, or stamped out.
Keep dancing. Keep celebrating. Keep fighting. Keep screaming.
Ps: Just a little last note for my gays :P I love you (us), truly. But this one's important: we are not the only ones celebrating Pride.
Let's make sure there is air and space in the room for all of us. Hold the door. Share the space with our allies. Literally and figuratively.
